Why do I need the chiller for water jet cutting machine? Some of our clients may ask us about this question before order, the following are reasons why you need it:
1. To chill the hydraulic oil system
The intensifier pump of the water jet cutting machine drives the piston to generate high-pressure water through hydraulic oil. The hydraulic oil will generate a lot of heat due to friction and compression during the high-pressure cycle. If the temperature is too high, it will cause:
The viscosity of the oil decreases, the lubrication performance decreases, and the wear of the parts is accelerated.
The seals age and deform, causing leakage.
The roll of the chiller: The hydraulic oil temperature is controlled within a sage range usually less than 50 ℃ through an oil cooler ( such as air cooling or water cooling device) to protect the hydraulic system.
2. Protect key components
High-pressure pump cooling: When a plunger pump or intensifier is working continuously, the mechanical parts will heat up due to friction. The chiller can indirectly cool these parts to avoid overheating and shutdown.
